Laurafa Reece, 91, died July 12, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital.

She was born Dec. 7, 1914 near Pratt, the daughter of Harry and Lottie Dauner Singleton. She graduated from Plevna High School in 1934 and from Sterling College in 1938. She was a homemaker and had taught school in Kingman County before she was married.

She belonged to Forest Park Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson.

On April 23, 1939, she married Vestal E. Reece in Cleveland. He died Nov. 15, 1989.

Survivors include: a son, Edwin and wife, Ann Reece, Missouri City, Texas; a daughter, Margaret and husband, Virgil Page, Hutchinson; a brother Calvin Singleton; a sister, June Lamb, both of Hutchinson; four grandchildren, Robert Reece, Lori Reece, Karla Porter and Sharon Hajj; and six great grandchildren, Corey and Carson, John and Taylor and Magen and Alex.

She was preceded in death by a son, William H. "Bill" Reece; five brothers, Raymond, Kenneth, Rocky, Dick and Earl Singleton; and a sister Vera Rose McElheny.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Chris Davis presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the mortuary, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Hoosier Cemetery, Kingman.
