Laurence Herbert "Larry" Deck, 94, died Friday, April 10, 2015. He was born December 13, 1920, at Winfield, the son of Francis and May (Garrison) Deck.

He was a 1940 graduate of Hutchinson High School and attended Pittsburg State University. Larry was an Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post 68, Boy Scouts of America, Kanza Council, and an elder of Community of Christ Church. Larry was a printer for the Hutchinson News retiring with 35 years of service.

On October 10, 1943, he married Mary Ruth Priddle in Hutchinson. She survives. Also surviving are: their children, Priscilla Gilmore of Florida, Laura Ward of Texas, and Lyle (Yolande) of McPherson; seven grandchildren, Paul (Lori) Pattinson, Jennifer Ward Adams, Adriene Robinett, Carly Koehn, Heather (Andy) Krznarich, Rhett (Ronda) Koehn, and Derek Koehn; 10 great-grandchildren, Casey and Cortney, Hayley, Zander and Aiden, Cassandra, Emma, Lily, Kensleigh and Madelynn; and a great-great-grandson, Blaine. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Earl, and a sister, Juanita Marts.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Valley Township Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard.
