LaVera Mae Sears, 66, went to be with her heavenly Father on Nov. 17, 2014, in Hutchinson. She was born May 31, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Harry A. and Ruth E. Yoder Troyer in Hutchinson.
She graduated from Central Christian High School in 1966, and attended college in Hesston and nursing school La Jaunta, Colo. She was attending First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita and retired as an LPN from Pease and Smith of Hutchinson. On Jan. 1, 1971, she married Wayne Beachy, until his passing on Dec. 7, 1979. She later married Steven Sears on March 24, 1984, in Hutchinson. He survives. Other survivors include: sons, Ryan Beachy and wife Rachel of Ellensburg, Wash., Micah Beachy and wife Shanna of Omaha, Neb.; daughter, Traci Miller and husband Brett of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; parents, Harry and Ruth Troyer of Buhler; sisters, Verda Rempel and husband Darriel of Sun City, Ariz., Mary Lawson and husband Paul of Hutchinson, and Vicki Kauffman and husband Dale of Haven.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Journey @Yoder Church, with Pastors Brent Warkentin and Chad Eigsti presiding. Burial will follow in Yoder Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Journey @ Yoder Church, Yoder.
