LYONS - LaVeta Fawn Jowers, 58, died Aug. 31, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 28, 1957, in Larned, to Melvin Dean and JoAnn Pauline (Chlumsky) Pinkston. She was a 1975 graduate of Hutchinson High School and went on to attend Nursing School at Hutchinson Community College. She was an LPN for Lyons Hospital for 12 years and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Inman for five years.
Survivors include: children, Brandon Pinkston and wife Rebecca of Hutchinson, Cody Pinkston of Central City, Colo., and Letitia Roush of Wichita; six grandchildren; siblings, Arlie Pinkston and wife Phyllis of Hutchinson, Ira Pinkston and wife Darcel of Parker, Colo., Melvena Schnelle and husband Tim of Abingdon, Va., Cherise Merrill and husband Shawn of Hutchinson, and Brian Pinkston and wife Rhonda of Bristol, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Luke Helmuth presiding. Private burial will be in Larned Cemetery. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
