Lavona Ann Craig, 70, of Partridge, died April 30, 2021. She was born April 11, 1951, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Orval and Ruth (Fritz) Patterson.

Lavona was a military wife, which gave her the opportunity to work in many different fields, including: a teacher's aide, school cook, librarian, and nurse. She worked as a nurse for Hutchinson Hospital for many years. Lavona was a caregiver and  filled any and every need she came across. She was an excellent cook and often fed children in her community.

On May 10, 1969, she married Walter Lynn Craig, in Hutchinson. They shared nearly 52 years together.

Lavona is survived by: husband, Walter Craig, Partridge; daughter, Shannon Brewer (Richard), Partridge; son, Steve Craig (Amy), Hutchinson; grandchildren, Candice, Curtis, Cassie, Paige, Aaron, and Cameron; one great-grandson, Jameson; sister, Melba Bryant, Hutchinson; and brothers, Leon and Ricky Patterson, both of Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Glenda Patterson.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
