Lawrence Eugene Fetter, 84, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at Hester Care Center. He was born Jan. 10, 1931, at Bucklin, the son of Frank and Jennie Lee (Lyon) Fetter.
Lawrence was a 1949 graduate of Bucklin High School, a 40-year member of the national association ARRL, an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Hutchinson. Lawrence worked in communications for Panhandle Eastern, Haven Station, for 33 years, retiring in 1988.
On Feb. 14, 1952, he married Susie Darlene Sharp in Gulfport, Miss. She survives. Also surviving are their three sons and spouses, Mark (Staci) of Fort Collins, Colo., Rodney (Kathleen) of Mooresville, NC, Jeffrey (Lisa) of Wichita; and two granddaughters, Katie Meda (Kris) of Fort Collins, Colo., and Kalyn Fetter of Mooresville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frances, Beulah, Dorothy and Lester.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Burial with military honors conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville.
