Obituary

HUTCHINSON – Lawrence Alton Lambert, Sr, 91, died June 16, 2010 at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 1, 1918 in Pretty Prairie to Oscar and Lulu Miller Lambert. He graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1935.

Lawrence was a member of Forest Park Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson and was an Elder for many years at the Leoti Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Lay Witness Mission and shared the gospel of Jesus with his family and friends. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather who exemplified Christ in the home.

A resident of Hutchinson since 1993, coming from Leoti, he was a farmer, rancher, and cattle buyer. He served on the board of directors for Southwest Kansas Irrigation Association. He was a Past President of Wichita County Irrigation Association and a former Wichita County 4-H Club Leader.

He married Emmaline Welch on Jan. 23, 1937 in Wichita. She died Jan. 25, 2005.

Survivors include, two sons: Roger Larry Lambert, Hutchinson and Rev. Lawrence "Butch" Lambert, Jr and his wife Linda, Wichita; two daughters: Sherra L. Brigman and her husband Dean, Hutchinson and Jeanie Lambert, Hutchinson; 4 grandsons: Greg Edmisson and wife Julie, Johnson; Rob Edmisson and his wife Gina, Stillwater, OK; Ted Seaman, Missoula, MT; Ben Lambert and his wife Kelly, Salem, OR; Lanissa Hammond and her husband Chris, Marion; 12 great grandchildren: Cole and Alex Edmisson; Corbin and Cierra Edmisson; Lakisha, Zachary and Colten Hammond; Christian, Calab, Emma Grace and Ted Seaman, Jr; Emmaline Elizabeth Lambert.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at Forest Park Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, Home Healthcare Connection, or Forest Park Presbyterian Church in care of Elliott Mortuary.
