Lawrence L. "Larry" or "Mitch" Mitchell, 67, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012. He was born in Amarillo, Texas on July 23, 1945, the son of Forest and Marjorie Cunningham Mitchell.
He was a graduate of Lyons High School, a lifetime member of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society), a member of the NRA and a member of the Machinist Local Lodge #1992. He had worked as a tester and chrome plater for Eaton Corporation for 40 years.
On August 15, 1964, he married Carol Lee Kirsch in Chase. She survives. Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Shane and Susan, Arlington, Texas, and Ryan and Stephanie, Florence, South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Sammie, Bailey, Gavyn, Jackson and Kennedy Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant twin granddaughters, Katelynn and Chloe Mitchell.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker officiating. Friends may sign his memorial book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial gifts may be made to Cancer Council of Reno County, or Hospice House, both in care of the mortuary.
