Lea Nell Moos, 88, a former longtime resident of Hutchinson, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at Via Christi on Ridge, Wichita. Lea Nell Bieberle was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Bushton, the daughter of Anton C. and Mary (Hammeke) Bieberle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Evelyn Klepper, and brother, Father Victor Bieberle. She is survived by her brother, Clifford (Gerri) Bieberle of Great Bend and her sister, Ellie (Jerry) Ewald of Wichita. She was a 1944 graduate of Bushton High School. On June 5, 1947, she married Eugene Moos of Ellinwood, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Bushton. Her husband; two sons, Sam and Gary; and a baby daughter, Connie, predeceased her. Lea Nell is survived by her daughter, Karen (James) White of Charlestown, RI; her son, Randy (Janet) Moos of Plano, Texas; nine grandchildren, A.J. Weigel of Tucson, Ariz., Mary (Steven) Spencer of Richfield, Minn., Amy Weigel of Highland, New York, Megan Weigel of Doylestown, Pa., and Laura, Leah, Mariah, Hannah, and Clara Moos of Plano, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Sophia Luczak, Zoey Olsen, and Oliver Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lea Nell lived in Ellinwood after her marriage from 1947 to 1967, and was an active member of St. Joseph's Church. She was a homemaker and co-owner with her husband of the Ellinwood and Hoisington Theatres. After her husband's death in 1963, she sold the theatres and moved with her children to Hutchinson, where she resided until 2011. She was employed as a school secretary at both Trinity High School and Holy Cross Catholic School. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross parish, served as a greeter, and was a member of the Altar Society and St. Ann's Circle. After her move to Wichita, Lea Nell was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Sienna Church. Lea Nell was an avid Trinity High School fan. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, and loved traveling as well as gardening. Her life centered on her faith, her family, and her friends.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Parish Rosary and Wake will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, and Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, both at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Lakin-Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood. Memorial gifts may be made in her name to Trinity High School, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
