Leatrice "Joy" Walker, 64, died July 18, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born Aug. 6, 1948, in Liberal, Kan., the daughter of Lester Irving and Beatrice Arthur (Thomson) Reazin.

Joy graduated from Weskan High School in 1966. She then went to Beauty School in Colorado Springs and owned House of Hair in Sharon Springs and then Joyland Hair Design in Plainville. Later she returned to school and received her LPN from Central Kansas Area Vocational School, her RN from Barton Community College, her B.A. from Newman University and a Masters from Wichita State. She was a LPN, RN and then a Nurse Practitioner working at St. Anthony's Hospital in Hays, Plainville Clinic, Hutchinson Clinic, PrairieStar and was most recently working for Docs Who Care, an organization that helps provide doctors in rural communities. Joy was a member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, the Kansas Nursing Association and the American Nurses Association.

On July 1, 1972, she married John A. Walker. He survives. Other survivors include: three children, Jandee "J.J." Walker and companion Charles Taylor of St. Joseph, Mo., Jonna Upson and husband Blake of Syracuse, Kan., Gregory Walker of Hutchinson; brother, Wes Reazin and wife Katie of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; four nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Irving Reazin.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, with Reverend Richard Brooks presiding. Burial will be noon (MT)/1 p.m. (CST), Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Weskan Cemetery, Weskan, Kan. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with family to receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund or the American Lung Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
