Lela M. (Kisselburg) Jones, 102, formerly of Hutchinson, peacefully passed away June 14, 2025, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, Lawrence, KS. She was born March 21, 1923, in Maysville, OK to Clarence and Knoxie (Wade) Kisselburg.

Lela earned her Associate's degree in 1978 from Hutchinson Community Junior College and her Bachelor's degree in Gerontology in 1980  from Wichita State University.

On December 17, 1949, Lela married Harold R. Jones.  They had over 60 years of marriage before he passed in 2010.

Lela enjoyed singing in the choir at Trinity UMC in Hutchinson for over 40 years. She also taught Sunday School and was a Stephen Minister.  She dedicated herself to reading to the visually impaired on KHCC for many years.

Lela is survived by her: son, Dr. David A. Jones (Marsha) of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren, Kristen Gill (Jarrod) and Greg Jones of Surprise, AZ; great-grandchildren, Treven and Kendel Gill; and brother, Kenneth Kisselburg of McCloud, OK.

She was preceded in death her: husband; parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

There will be a graveside service at 12 pm on June 24, 2025, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson with Deacon Todd Ray officiating.   Friends may sign her book from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Elliott Mortuary or at the service.
