Lela Josephine Marlow, 85, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Com-munities, South Hutchinson. She was born July 28, 1931, in Springdale, Arkansas, to Donald and Amy (McQuiston) Walden. Lela worked in housekeeping for all three Hutchinson hospitals: Grace, St. Elizabeth's, and Hutchinson. She was active in the Lincoln School Community Project in 1999 and loved animals of all kinds, especially her cat, Tiger.
Lela married Clarence J. Marlow on Jan. 27, 1966, in Lyons. He died April 23, 1993.
She is survived by: son, Richard Marlow and wife Catherine of Hutchinson; daughters, Janice Latta, and Donna Casey and companion Harold Werner, all of Hutchinson; grandsons, David Latta of Hutchinson, Billy Scott of Hutchinson, Carl Scott of Nebraska, and Charles Scott of McPherson; granddaughters, Josephine Marie Marlow of Wichita, Alicia Marlow of Illinois, Eleanore Marlow of Hutchinson; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren on the way; brothers, James Walden, Albert Walden and wife Linda, and Eddie Walden and wife Debbie, all of Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Barbara Stewart; brothers, Kenneth, Carl, Donald, Richard, and Billy Walden.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Montie McFerrin officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
