Obituary

Lenora Green, 97, passed away on Dec. 5, 2014, at the Dillon Living Center. She was born in Wichita, to Goldie and Chester Harris, on Nov. 15, 1917. She lived in Hutchinson most of her life and attended Hutchinson High School. Lenora was an exceptional mother, homemaker, Avon representative and assistant to her husband in his photography business. They were in charge of special event ticket sales at the Sports Arena. She was a riveter during World War II. Lenora always kept a lovely garden, was a Garden Club member and had been an active Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed playing the piano throughout her life.

She married Douglas Green on June 1, 1935, in Hutchinson. He passed away in 1986.

She is survived by: three daughters, Shirley Macklin (Dallas) of Hutchinson, Donna Tout (David) of Olathe, and Susan Haddad (Tim) of Swansea, Ill.; brother, John Harris (Velma) of Wichita; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, and her sisters, Florine Gaskill, Goldie Morgan, and Esther SanJuan, and granddaughters-in-law, Christina Johnson, and Verlene Banz.

A celebration of Lenora's life will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Amy Foster officiating. Cremation has taken place. A memorial book may be signed at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Inurnment will take place in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to Park Place Christian Church, or the Dillon Living Center, both in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, 67501
