Obituary

Lenora Jean "Jeannie" Moore, 71, went to be with her Lord, May 27, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1941, in Newton, Kan., the daughter of Frederick Amos and Martha Lucille Zarnowski Shultz.

Jeannie graduated from Mount Carmel in 1959. On June 10, 1967, she married her sweetheart, Jay Leon Moore in Newton, Kan. They were active members of St. Teresa's and then Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a former president of the St. Teresa's Altar Society and was involved in the Reno County Genealogical Society. She is survived by her husband, Jay Leon Moore of Hutchinson; two sons, Sean Moore and wife Michele of Carbondale, Kan., Mark Moore of Hutchinson; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Katherine, Matthew, Stephen, Thomas, and Daniel Moore, all of Carbondale, Kan., and Faith Moore of Hutchinson, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Miller; and two brothers, Vernon and Jim Shultz.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Church of the Holy Cross, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton, KS. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
