Lenore Waters, 88, of Hutchinson, died January 26, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born December 14, 1935, in Stafford, KS, to Gilbert and Rosa (Thole) Flandermeyer.

Lenore graduated from Stafford High School and attended McPherson and Hutchinson Community College. She worked at Gregory, Buhler, but her real passion was being a homemaker and mother. Lenore loved spending time with her grandkids and being involved in her church. She enjoyed playing a role in Vacation Bible School, and working with the children.

She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

On June 22, 1957, she married Billy Gene Waters, in Stafford. They shared over 45 years of marriage before his passing on December 21, 2002.

Lenore is survived by: her children, Diana (Steve) Twineham and Steven (Sheri) Waters of Hutchinson, and Kathy (Roger) Hysom of Nisswa, MN; grandchildren, Jacob Waters of Lawrence, KS, Colton (Savannah) Waters of Wichita, Hunter (Kaylee) Waters of Wichita, Ashley (Alex) Petrovic of Racine, WI, and Nikki (Jesse) Delay of Wichita; and great-grandchildren, Emersyn Waters and Lilee Kilgore of Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy Waters, and sister, Vera Jean Goodwin.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be at a later date in Buhler East Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the mortuary.
