Obituary

Leo A. Davignon, 76, passed peacefully Monday November 10, 2014, with family by his side on the Feast Day of St. Leo the Great, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

He was born in Damar, KS on July 3, 1938, to Simon and Alma (Brin) Davignon.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a Holy Cross 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council #7279 and was past Grand Knight Master Knight. He was Leo of Leo's Service Center Office Machine Sales and Service. He was a former president of the National Office Machine Dealers Association.

He married Lorna Nadine Stevens on June 20, 1959, in Wichita, Ks. She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Dan (Susan), Lake Havasu, Ariz.; daughters, Dana (Mark) Harris, Nickerson, Judy (Jim) Wilson, Wichita, Rochelle Davignon, McPherson, and Patti (Jerry) Mazur, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Danny (Heather) Davignon, Overland Park, KS, Dr. Cathleen (Josh) Adams, Elizabethtown, Pa., Brad (Maggie) Harris, Overland Park, KS, Jeremy (Katie) Harris, Topeka, KS, Thomas (Rachel) Harris, Hutchinson, Stephen (Amber)Wilson, Wichita, KS, Gini (Nick) Cook, Lawrence, KS, Patrick Mazur, Hutchinson, Kerry (Tim) Dowsey, South Hutchinson, and Sami Mazur, Hutchinson, KS.

He was blessed to know his 10 great-grandchildren, and with two on the way, sisters, Theresa Brosman, Tucson, Ariz., Wilma Cobb, Longmont, Colo., Darlene Bugner, Great Bend, KS, Mary Blasi, Wichita, KS, David Davignon, Damar, KS, and Ivan Davignon, Rapid City, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Tony, a sister, Agnes Christman, and a great-grandson, Owen Graham Adams.

He enjoyed showing his 1954 Oldsmobile 88 at car shows, but the most wonderful thing to him was spending time with family and friends.

A parish rosary will be at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, all at Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph A. Eckberg presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council #7279, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
