Leo A. Ford, 87, died May 25, 2006, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born May 31, 1918, in Arlington, the son of Windford R. and Ada M. Jones Ford. A Hutchinson resident since 1990, moving from Pretty Prairie, he was a retired carpenter with Union 1062, Santa Barbara, Calif. and worked for Ewing Construction, Hutchinson.
He was a member of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 A.F. & A.M. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II from 1940 to 1945 in field artillery. In 1943, he married Dorothy O. Reeves in Hutchinson. She died July 29, 1988.
Other survivors include: two sons, William R. "Bill," Kansas City, and Micheal A., Hutchinson; three daughters, Mary K. Bates, Concordia, Linda L. Russell, Hutchinson, and Judith L. Scott, Hanford, Calif.; a brother, Bobby, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Mary Siebert, Pretty Prairie, and Betty Cook, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Harold, Bill, and Lloyd; and a sister, Elnora Moore.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel. A military graveside service conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard will take place at Lonestar Cemetery.
