Obituary

Leo H. LeClair Sr., 83, died Dec. 3, 2007, at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born Oct. 31, 1924, in rural Concordia, the son of Homer and Bertha Detrixhe LeClair. He attended Reno County schools. A resident of Hutchinson, he was a car salesman and retired as general manager of Boyd Motors.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 of the American Legion, Bob Campbell Post No. 1361 of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Century Club at Hutchinson Community College.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving both in World War II and the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart.

On Dec. 23, 1950, he married Judith Ann Hoppes in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Leo Jr., Hutchinson; three daughters, Joyce Hall and husband Rick, and Jacque Strawn and husband Jim, all of Hutchinson, and Janice Haury and husband Rev. Michael, Madison, Ohio; a brother, Jerry, Ozark, Mo.; four sisters, Geneva Sheffield, Enid, Okla., Janet Fail and Betty Griffin, both of Hutchinson, and Mary Fenton, Rogers, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the Pastor John Warring presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the mortuary.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Salem Community Church Cemetery, Nickerson.
