Leona Pearl "Pearly" Janzen, 80, died March 28, 2009, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.

She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Ellinwood to Clyde Orville and Josephine Abby Thorp Drake. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker.

On Aug. 31, 1946, she married Elmer Janzen in Hutchinson. He survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Jerry and wife Debbie, Butch and wife Erron, and Gary Janzen; three daughters, Linda Schreiber and husband Ron, Janet Frenya and husband Mark, and Susan Tompkins and husband Ron; two sisters, Helen Minor and Geraldine Durbin; brother, Gerald Drake and wife Joan, all of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clyde S. and Stuart James Drake; and two sisters, Virginia Palermo and Mary Perry.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Bob Phipps officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
