Leroy K. Baker, 82, died Sept. 23, 2016, at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater. He was born May 9, 1934, in Stanley, Wis., to Alfred and Edna Ann (Gadke) Baker.
He was a 1952 graduate of Stanley High School. He was a paratrooper for the United States Army, a member of the Secret Service, and a chef for various restaurants.
Survivors include: brothers, Roland Dale Baker and wife Leanna and Duane Baker and wife Marlene, both of Hutchinson; sisters, Alice Cluster of Freedom, Calif., Carol Lutterbach of Turtle Lake, Wis., Donna Wyjnor of Shawano, Wis., and Sherry Johnson of Marshfield, Wis. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gerald and Richard Baker; and significant other, Wilma Clemments.
Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Winfield, with the Reverend Jim Rhaesa presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
