Leroy Clifford Kelley, 83, died March 7, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of John and Lillian Dessen Kelley. He graduated from Westport High School, Kansas City, Mo., in 1941. A resident of Hutchinson for 20 years, moving from Winfield, he was the manager of the Fox Theater, Winfield.
He belonged to the Church of the Holy Cross, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, both in Hutchinson, and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Winfield. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Nov. 21, 1945, he married Doris Gore in Toledo, Ohio. She survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Michael L., Hutchinson, and John, Sheboygan, Wis.; a daughter, Victoria Kelley, Wichita; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rosary will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, immediately followed by the funeral, with Father Joseph Eckberg and Father Charles Seiwert presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parker Cemetery, Arkansas City, with military graveside rites conducted by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be sent to the Church of the Holy Cross or the VFW Bob Campbell Post No. 1361, both in care of the mortuary.
