Leslie Joy Torrence died March 10, 2006, at the Hospice House. The daughter of Frank Leslie and Etta May Clark Joy, she was born March 12, 1919, at Luray. She was married for 58 years to the late Dale "Jake" Torrence, a former jeweler of Hutchinson. Survivors include: a son, Dr. Michael D. Torrence, of Hutchinson; two daughters, Gayle Evans of Wellington, and Joy Smith of Salina; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 13, 1:30 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday 3 to 9 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday 9 a.m. to noon at the Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be sent to the Butterfield Youth Services or the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, in care of the mortuary.
