Obituary

Lester L. Bishop, 80, died June 26, 2006, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1926, in Williamsburg, the son of Charles Theodore and Mary Elizabeth Fletcher Bishop. A resident of Hutchinson for 33 years, he retired from Reno County Public Works after 20 years of service.

He attended First Church of the Nazarene.

On Aug. 3, 1956, he married Betty Lou Britain in Ottawa. She survives.

Other survivors include: four sons, Lester Leroy, Ottawa, Tim and Michael L., both of Hutchinson, and Stanley, Bridgeport; a daughter, Bonnie Stapleton, Hutchinson; a brother, Charles, Victorville, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Alan; and two sisters, Dimple Woodrum and Eunice Ledom.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson, with the Rev. R. Kendall Franklin presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
