Letha M. Mitchell, 82, of Hutchinson, died Oct. 16, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Beatrice Neb., the daughter of Benjamin and Ida Hirst Balderson.
She was a 1942 Graduate of Beatrice High School and received her degree from Adela Hale Business Career School.
She was a bookkeeper for Sawyer Plumbing, Kansas Association of Wheat Growers and Detroiter Mobile Homes.
On March 25, 1946, she married Melvin Merle Mitchell. He died Aug. 2, 1996. Survivors include: son Jerry Mitchell and wife Marceille, Hutchinson; grandson, Captain Michael Mitchell and wife Denise, Edmond, Okla.; and granddaughter, Michelle Mitchell, Wichita; and two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Lilly.
Graveside service 2 p.m. Monday Oct. 20, 2008, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Robert L. Albin, Chaplain, presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary; family will receive friends 6 to 8 Sunday.
Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Center in care of the mortuary.
