HAVEN - Letha Jo Oldenettel, 86, died Jan. 9, 2017, at Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, Wichita. She was born Oct. 4, 1930, in Allen, Okla., to James L. and Eunice M. (Alexander) McLaughlin.
Letha graduated from Haven High School in 1948 and was a cook at the Haven Grade School. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On July 3, 1949, she married Arnold W. "Arnie" Oldenettel, in Patterson. He died Aug. 28, 2007. Letha is survived by: sons, Stephen Oldenettel and wife Patricia of Haven, Greg Oldenettel and wife Gwen of Wichita, Rod Oldenettel and wife Leslie of Hesston; daughter, Jo Heinz and husband Phil of Haysville; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents and siblings, Nellie Dick, Verna Vickers, Phyllis Peck, and Jimmy McLaughlin.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Haven Baptist Church, 502 E. Fourth St., Haven, with Pastor Gary Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Cemetery, rural Haven. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
