Levi Jaymes Sims, 18, died Aug. 9, 2015, outside of McPherson. He was born Aug. 7, 1997, to Nicholas Jay and Tamara Jeanne (Davis) Sims in Wichita.
In May of 2015, Levi graduated from Buhler High School. He was serving his apprenticeship as an electrician for Sims Electric and attended Christ Bible Church with his grandmother in Nickerson.
Survivors include: father, Nicholas Jay Sims of Hutchinson; mother, Tamara Sims of Hutchinson; brother, Gabriel Sims of Hutchinson; sister, Autumn Sims of Hutchinson; grandparents, Greig and Suzanne Sims of Hutchinson, Dorothy and Stan McAllister of Hutchinson, Bryce Davis of Hooper, Colo.; uncles, Greig Allen Sims Jr. of Hutchinson, Ty McAllister of Hutchinson; aunt, Parker McAllister of Nickerson, great-grandparents, Donna Shahan of Wichita, Arlene Richey of Hutchinson; longtime girlfriend, Macaela Garcia; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Philip Lee presiding. Burial will follow in Abbyville Cemetery, Abbyville. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
