Obituary

Levi L. Yoder, 98, passed quietly into the next life on Nov. 11, 2012, at Mennonite Manor. He was born Jan. 28, 1914, and raised in Yoder, Kan. on his father's farm, which today is operated by fifth generation family members.

He spent his life in Hutchinson as a successful farmer raising cattle and wheat. He was an honorable man, a good steward of all things around him and was dedicated to his family and church.

On May 23, 1940, Levi married Esther Bernice Zook in Surry, ND. She died Feb. 20, 1995.

He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine Blake and husband Randolph of Nashville, Tenn., Donna Yoder and husband Don Dearth of Wichita, Kan., Connie McTigue and husband Steve of Mishawaka, Ind.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Lucinda Yoder.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in Yoder Cemetery, Yoder, Kan., with Pastor Howard Wagler presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and 1:30 to service time Thursday at Yoder Cemetery.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Journey Mennonite Church, Yoder Campus with Pastor Howard Wagler presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Levi and Esther Yoder Scholarship Fund at Hesston College, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
