Lila M. "Penny" Allen, 75, died Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Hospice House. She was born at Pratt, July 1, 1936, the daughter of Thomas and Cleo Withers Hatcher.

She attended New Life Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose #982. Penny had worked at Pegues, Betts Bakery and retired from Graber Elementary food service with 14 years of service.

On December 31, 1954, she married Kenneth C. Allen in Hutchinson. He died October 24, 2000.

She is survived by their children and their spouses; Tom and Deedra Allen, Cindi and Gayle Smith, Robin and Mitch Pfannenstiel; three sisters, Linda Smith, Janice Tipton, Karen Thompson, all of Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, Adriane (Nick) Austin, Mason Allen, Clint (Stacie) Smith, Carrie (Jody) Clark, Cammie (Casey) Bowman, Austin (Sarah) Pfannenstiel, Addison Pfannenstiel, Ashton Pfannenstiel; eight great-grandchildren, Daelyn and Dalton Smith, Gwendolyn, Lillian and Meredith Clark, Evan and Nolan Austin, and Kensley Bowman. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Tommy, William, Jerry and Leonard Hatcher.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastors Gary Worthington and Bones Nay officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice House or to the church, in care of the mortuary.
