Lillian G. Coberly, 94, of Hutchinson, died June 3, 2012, at Hester Care Center.

She was born March 5, 1918, in Mount Vernon, Ill., the daughter of Leonard and Ora Mae Morgan Rhoads.

She graduated from Edwardsville (Ill.) High School in 1935 and from Iowa State University in 1939, with a degree in Home Economics. She moved to Hutchinson after graduation to work for the Gas Service Company, doing cooking demonstrations. She left the Gas Service Company to marry Harry and worked with him at Coberly Drugstore for the next 40 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon and an elder. She was also a member of Chaper EK of P.E.O.

Lillian married Harry P. Coberly on Dec. 1, 1940, in Edwardsville, Ill. Harry died June 30, 1994.

Survivors include: a daughter, Janet Mueller, Overland Park; a son, Mark Coberly and his wife Sharon, Hutchinson; a sister, Betty Borsting, Vancouver, Wash.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Tweito, on Feb. 11, 1999.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church. Family will greet friends starting at 10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church. A private family inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. A register book may be signed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, today through service time.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Coberly-Tweito Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Towers or First Presbyterian Church, sent in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS. 67501.

A memorial service for Lillian G. Coberly, former co-owner of Coberly Drugs along with her husband, Harry P. Coberly, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson, with Pastor Mike Herring presiding.

The family will greet friends at the church Saturday morning beginning at 10:15 a.m. until service time. Elliott Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
