Obituary

Lillian Kay “Lilly” Pike, 86, of Pretty Prairie, died May 4, 2026, at Thorne Care Center – The Wesley, in Hutchinson. She was born April 14, 1940, in Scott County, Kansas, to LeRoy and Mary (Kessler) Beeson.

Lillian graduated from Scott City High School. She owned Fred’s Bait Shop at Cheney Lake from 1993 until she retired in 2003. Lilly was of the Methodist faith and a member of V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361 Ladies Auxiliary.

She married Orland Gay Marker in Scott City, in 1958. They divorced in 1978. Lillian married James Frederick “Fred” Pike on July 12, 1987, in Garden City. He died October 18, 2015.

She is survived by her children, Pam Doan of Hutchinson, Lynn Marker of Lubbock, Texas, Travis Marker of Palm Springs, California; stepchildren, Joy Annette Wilson of Hutchinson, Beth Ann Bolia of Arkansas City, Nancy Turner (Norman) of Little River; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sixteen step-grandchildren; forty-six step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margie Allen; brothers, Jimmie Beeson, Victor Beeson; stepdaughter, Debbie Yoder; and stepsons Jimmy Pike and Butch Pike. 

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Elliott Chapel. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking this link: click here to view the service. The link will be active beginning at 1:50 p.m. Friday.

Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
