Linda Lee Bever, 52, died Aug. 3, 2008, at Cheney Reservoir.

She was born July 14, 1956, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of William and Josie Perkins Asberry.

She graduated from Grinnell High School and Hutchinson Community College. She lived in Hutchinson since 1985. She had been employed at the Hutchinson SRS Office, South Hutchinson, for almost 19 years, serving as an administrative specialist for the last 16 years.

On May 25, 1992, she married Dale E. Bever in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 3, 2008.

Survivors include: a son, Rodney Geist and wife Saluda, Salina; a daughter, Amy Lafayette and husband Wayne, Hutchinson; four brothers, Lonnie Asberry and Dwight Asberry, both of Grinnell, Iowa, Oliver Asberry, New York, and Jimmie Asberry, Wichita; a sister, Cheryl Lingenfelter, Kingman; and four grandchildren, Rodney Geist, Jr., Dayton Geist, and London and Trenton Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at The Father's House, 1505 East 20th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Allen Smith presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Memorials may be sent to the Dale and Linda Bever Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
