Linda Ruth Neher, 60, died April 6, 2024, at Sparkling Fountain Homes Senior Care Facility, Overland Park. She was born as Alice Marie Gulling to Gerald Raymond Sr. and Darlene (Hemminger) Gulling on November 15, 1963, in Des Moines, IA. She was adopted by Eldon LaVern and Joanna Marie (Hooge) Boese on April 6, 1965.
Linda earned an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Hesston College in 1984 and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1986 from Bethel College, Newton. She signed up for Mennonite Voluntary Service after college. The first year, she was a teacher's aide at Friendship Day Care and the second year, she was an activities aide at Mennonite Friendship Manor, this is where she met her husband, Scott.
Linda enjoyed coloring, cross stitching, singing, playing the piano and accordion, and writing.
On March 25, 1989, she married Scott Edwin Neher, in South Hutchinson. They shared over 32 years of marriage prior to his death on September 18, 2021.
Linda is survived by: her children, Christopher (Savana) Neher, Katelyn (Dustin) Harman both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Seriniti Harman, Shiloh Neher, Salem Neher; adoptive sister, Helen (Boese) Adams and husband, Brian of CA; biological siblings, Gerald, Jr., Larry, Sherry, Patsy, Helen, Betty, Kathy, Carol, Tim, Loretta, and Jessie Ann; parents-in-law, Doyle and Sharon Neher of Pfeifer; sisters-in-law, Vicki (David) Stoll of OK, Pamela (Marcelo) Hernandez of Branson, MO; brothers-in-law, Steve (Jolene) Neher of Lawrence and Jefferey (Jesica) Neher of Pfeifer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14th, 2024, at Maranatha Church, 3115 Blanchard Rd SW, Hutchinson. A private family burial will take place.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Horizons Mental Health Center or Maranatha Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main. Hutchinson, KS 67501.
