Lindy Jordan Wray, 34, of Hutchinson, died June 8, 2019, at his home. He was born April 12, 1985, to Clifford Kevin and Jan Irene (Davisson) Wray.
Lindy was a 2004 graduate of Buhler High School, and attended Hutchinson Community College (HCC) on a baseball scholarship. In 2005, he was a member of the HCC baseball team that qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) World Series, held in Grand Junction, CO. His participation in the 2005 NJCAA World Series marked the 30th anniversary of his father's participation in the 1975 NJCAA World Series. Lindy was employed in the family business, Wray and Sons Roofing, Inc., and enjoyed coaching the Buhler Knights Youth Baseball team. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed fishing, and loved animals, especially horses and dogs.
Lindy is survived by: parents, Cliff and Jan Wray; brothers, Grady (Anna) Wray, Dylan (Emily) Wray, and Colton Wray; nephews, Easton Wray and Brogan Wray, all of Hutchinson; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and furry companion, Atlas, his yellow lab.
He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Bernard 'Bernie' and Lorena Wray, and Clare 'Jr' and Evelyn Davisson.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at First Church of the Nazarene, 4290 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, with Pastor Kent Pedersen officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Buhler Community Foundation for the benefit of the Buhler USD 313 Educational Foundation Endowment for Baseball, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
