Obituary

Lloyd E. Bryson, 83, died Sept. 18, 2010, at McPherson Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 15, 1927, in Oak City, Kentucky the son of Walter Napoleon Bryson and Iva May Vie.

Lloyd served in the Navy from 46-47 and then transferred to the United States Air Force and retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1967 after 20 years. He then worked for Farmland Industries retiring in 1983 and also worked for Dillons as a delivery man. He was a member of the V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361.


On March 18, 1945, he married Erma "Jean" Huston in Hutchinson. She died Sept. 3, 2010.

Survivors include: four sons, Jim Bryson and wife Mitzi, Bossier City, La., Bill Bryson and Diane Varanelli, Sacramento, Calif., Michael Bryson and wife Lynn, McPherson, Dan Bryson and wife Melissa, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother Iva Hamilton.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Victor Halfmoon presiding. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the McPherson Care Center for the benefit of the Activity Department, in care of the mortuary.
