Obituary

Lloyd D. Warner, 84, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 18, 2011, at Hospice House.

He was born April 1, 1927, in Hutchinson, the son of Lloyd and Daisy Nirider Warner.

He graduated from Roxbury High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Lloyd was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, as well as the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local #70. He was a machinist at Cessna Fluid Power and later Eaton Corporation. He also was a self-employed carpenter.

Lloyd married Elizabeth Ann Dougherty on Jan. 19, 1948, in Elkton, Maryland. She died May 17, 2009.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Warner and wife Becky, Hutchinson; two daughters, Susan Loper, Hutchinson, and Yvonne Warner, Frisco, Texas; a sister, Mercedes Woolsey, Hutchinson, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose; and a son-in-law, Robert Loper.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral mass on Thursday, also at the church. Burial will be at Fairlawn Burial Park. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard at the cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, at Elliott Mortuary.
