Obituary

Lois I. Bowser, 91, died Sept. 16, 2016, at Thorne Care Center in Hutchinson. She was born July 26, 1925, in Newton, to Walter and Dora (Nickel) Harms.

Lois worked for many years as a cook for Partridge High School and then for Dillons Bakery until she retired. After retirement, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Elmdale Community Center. Lois was an avid Hutchinson Community College basketball fan. She was a member of Journey Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson.

Lois is survived by sons, Daryl Bowser of Hutchinson and Larry Bowser and wife Sheryl of Newton; grandchildren, Becky Ball and husband Brian of Sterling, Billy Bowser and wife Kristen of Austin, Texas, Tracy Bowser of Haysville, Donna Granger and Denise Allen, both of Dallas, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leslie Harms; and daughter-in-law, Connie Bowser.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Sterling High School Booster Club, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
