Lois June Funderburg, 93, died June 24, 2009, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson.

She was born May 21, 1916, in Turon, the daughter of Guy Ira and Iva Grace Lenegar Geesling.

She graduated in 1934 from Turon High School, Turon. She was a secretary for the Kansas Lung Association for 30-plus years.

She belonged to First United Methodist Church, was a former member of Goddard United Methodist Church, Goddard, and the Goddard Library Board.

On April 21, 1961, she married Henry F. "Hank" Funderburg in Wichita. He died Oct. 24, 2007.

Survivors include: a brother, Don Geesling and wife Norma, Kingman; a sister-in-law, Joanne Geesling, Turon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Warren and Guy "Gene' Funderburg.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Wesley Towers Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Robert Brooks and the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in Turon Cemetery, Turon. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the Wesley Towers Good Samaritan Fund, or Goddard United Methodist Church, both in care of the mortuary.
