Lois C. Scott's Obituary
Lois C. Scott, 87, died Sept. 25, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Burrton, the daughter of Andrew J. and Catherine Schilling Brown. She was a 1939 graduate of Halstead High School. A resident of Hutchinson, she retired as co-owner of Scott's Café and Service in Haven and Halstead. She was also a baker for the Rambler and The Highlands, Hutchinson, and was a home health aide for the Reno County Health Department.
She belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Club.
On July 31, 1940, she married John B. Scott Jr. in Wichita. He died Dec. 11, 1982.
Survivors include: her children and their spouses, Kaye and Ronny Wright, Sarasota, Fla., Mike and Paula Scott, Haven, Sherry and Wes St. Clair, Altus, Okla., Dick Scott, Hutchinson, Peggy Miller, Hutchinson, and Cindy and Ken Daniels, Hutchinson; a sister, Rebecca Unruh, Halstead; son-in-law, Lee Wilson; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Adam Hanley, Roger and Jessica Ediger, Christie Sanchez, Darrel and Marsha Varelo, Ricky Miller, Grahame Hemman, Ursela Hemman, Ashley Scott, Brian and Mandy Dwyer, Mike and Brandy Lackey, Christopher Scott, Jessica Scott, Tony and Deborah Wright, Jon Scott and Lisa Wright, Tom and Sandy Humphert, Judy and Joe Bennett, Debbie Carter, and Dale and Shirley Vincent; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Wilson; a sister, Dorothy Ewy; and granddaughter, Kimberly Wilson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pat Ault Duell and Pastor Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Reno County or Trinity United Methodist Church, both in care of the mortuary, 1219 N. Main Street, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
