Lola Irene Thompson, 88, died March 18, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 23, 1927, in Langdon, to Eugene and Dollie (Schweitzer) Tennant.
She married Floyd Lee Thompson on Oct. 11, 1947, in Stafford. He died April 9, 1991.
Lola worked for many years at Carey Salt before owning and working at her liquor store, Thompson Liquor, Turon.
Survivors include: son, Craig Thompson and wife Julie, Inman; daughters, Beverly Alterman and Krista Rumback, both of Wichita; grandson, Robert Alterman and wife Kahami, Wichita; granddaughter, Hayley Rumback and fiance' Ian Koski, Washington, DC; great-grandson, Leo Koski; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and a brother, Marvin Tennant.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will be present to greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
