Loren R. Brown, 83, of Hutchinson Kansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Born on July 28, 1940, in Hutchinson, Kansas. LR had many nicknames he acquired over the years, Chuck, Charlie, Uncle Chuck, & Big Daddy.
LR attended Hutchinson High School & Hutchinson Community College. He then worked for Cessna-Eaton Corporation for 42 years.
LR was fortunate to have attended several concerts and loved to drink a bit of whiskey! An avid bowler, collector of many things, loved to go to auctions and estate sales, history buff, & avid reader. He also loved to go to Oklahoma to attend the Chili Bowl Nationals, and the Knoxville Iowa's Sprint car races.
Also, in his travels he loved to visit friends in Albuquerque, NM and attend the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. He would make sure he went to one of his favorite diners (Grandma's K & I Diner) as he loved to enjoy the "Infamous Travis"!
LR was a man full of passion for his friends and family, as well as his politics and beliefs, and he always enjoyed lots of conversations with good food.
Survived by niece, Shannon Brown of West Des Moines Iowa, cousins; Marvin Brown, of Hutchinson, Kevin (Diane)Brown of Hutchinson, Norman (Paula) Brown of San Antonio, TX. and Karen Allen of Hoxie, KS.
LR is survived by very special friends, that have helped him through the years.
Kenneth Smith, Rick Vanetta, Jeff & Jan Lesslie, Rick Lesslie, Kara Lesslie Bramblett, Katie Lesslie, Keith Lesslie, Steven Jennings, Jerry Brawner & Nathan Delzer.
Many people felt a special bond with LR. He was even considered "Honorary Father Figure" for Stacy Parker Crotts, Jesse & Matthew Parker.
LR was proceeded in death by his parents, Elvin & Thelma Brown of Hutchinson Kansas, brother, Duane Brown & sister-in-law, Kathy Brown of West Des Moines, Iowa, several cousins and many faithful dog companions.
Memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
