HALSTEAD - Our dear mother, Lorene G. Luney, passed away on March 8, 2010, at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation, at the age of 100. She was born Oct. 9, 1909 in Bois D'Arc, Mo., to James Franklin and Theodosia "Theo" Jones Claypool. She was a former longtime resident of Hutchinson, she had been a dishwasher for numerous cafes including, Jolly Café and the Blue Grill, and was a sales person for McNess Products.
She married Lloyd O. Dove. In 1956, she married Lawrence Luney in Miami, Okla. He died in 1991. Survivors include: a son, Darrell Dove and wife Kimberly, Burrton; a daughter, Barbara Strong and husband James, Hutchinson; 26 grandchildren, including Patricia Brewer, Minneapolis, Minn.; and numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Dove, a daughter, Joann Cooper, and four brothers and a sister.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday March 12, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Peter Hartman presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
