Loretta L. Saunders, 84, died March 9, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born July 20, 1930, in Claudell, Kan., the daughter of Glen A. and Helen M. (Schalansky) McDowell.

She was a 1949 graduate of Claudell, Kansas High School.

On Sept. 3, 1970, she married John W. Saunders in Hutchinson. Loretta was a retired waitress, working at the Hutchinson Town Club and Prairie Dunes Country Club and was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. She is survived by: her husband, John; daughter, Karen Wodke (Mick) of Salina; son, Douglas B. Fellows of Hutchinson; brothers, Everett McDowell (Joleen) of Cairo, Neb., John McDowell (Janet) of Lebanon, Sam McDowell (Gaylene) of Lebanon; sisters, Joyce Nelssen (Vernie) of Smith Center, Pauline Mockerman (Lester) of Salina, Dee Baetz (Darrell) of Enterprize, Utah, Carol Baetz of Kearney, Neb., Terry Shanley (Melvin) of Shavano Park, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Fellows; an infant son; and a sister, Margaret May.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead officiating. Burial will be in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
