Lorna Nadine Davignon, 76, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with dementia, on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson. She was born Aug. 17, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Carlos E. and Virginia A. (Buell) Stevens.

Lorna graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita in 1959 and Hutchinson Community College in 1982 with her nursing degree. Lorna was a registered nurse for Good Samaritan Center and Dillon Living Center. She would also work alongside her husband at Leo's Service Center. Lorna was a member of Church of the Holy Cross and the Altar Society.

On June 20, 1959, she married Leo A. Davignon in Wichita. He died Nov. 10, 2014. Lorna was also preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Owen Graham Adams. She is survived by: sisters, Carla Hayden of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Pat Sayre of Somerset, Ky.; son, Dan (Susan) of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; daughters, Dana (Mark) Harris of Nickerson, Judy (Jim) Wilson of Wichita, Rochelle Davignon of Onaga, Patti (Jerry) Mazur of Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren, Dr. Danny Davignon (Heather) of Overland Park, Dr. Cathleen Adams (Josh) of Elizabethtown, Pa., Brad Harris (Maggie) of Overland Park, Jeremy Harris (Katie) of Topeka, Thomas Harris (Rachel) of Hutchinson, Stephen Wilson (Amber) of Wichita, Gini Cook (Nick) of Lawrence, Patrick Mazur (fiance Bethany) of Hutchinson, Kerry Dowsey (Tim) of Hutchinson, Sami Mazur of Hutchinson. She was blessed to know her 17 great-grandchildren.

A parish rosary and family visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Church of the Holy Cross, 26th and Plum, Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at Church of the Holy Cross, with Father Roger Lumbre officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
