Lottie Mae Ely, 99, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Diversicare, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 26, 1917, in rural Turon, to Charlie and Leona (Hagan) Wilson.
When her family lived in Turon she owned and operated a small diner, the Wheel Inn, which was popular with truckers and the highway patrol. The family moved to Hutchinson in 1964.
Lottie married Earl S. "Button" Ely in 1937. He died in 1974. She is survived by: her children, Charles Lesley (Sharon), Marquette, Mich., Earl R. (Karolyn), Haven, Stanley L., Blanco, Texas, and Betty (Don) Cooper, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Clayton Copeland.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside inurnment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 in the Turon Cemetery, Turon, KS. Elliott Morutary and Crematory in charge of the arrangements.
