Louise R. Basore Sherwood, 74, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 11, 2010, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was born July 15, 1936, in Aurora, Neb., the daughter of Russell and Mildred Christenson Holloway.


She attended school in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1953. She attended the United Methodist Church in Aurora. She owned and managed a furniture store in Aurora for several years. After moving to Hutchinson, she was a receptionist for Dr. Nanny's office for 15 years.

She married Jerry D. Basore on May 26, 1958, in Aurora. He died Sept. 19, 2000. She later married John Sherwood on Feb. 6, 2002, in Las Vegas. He survives. Other survivors include: a son, Tom Basore and wife Gayle of Newton; a daughter, Cindy McFeeters and husband Ronald of Hutchinson; a stepson, Doug Sherwood; three stepdaughters, Kathy Baker and husband Mike, Pam Tuxhorn and husband Ed, and Connie Romesburg and husband Fred, all of Hutchinson; a grandson, Elijah Basore; nine step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Paula Basore.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Elliott Mortuary with Chaplain Sara Blodgett presiding. A memorial service will also be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at 10 a.m. in Aurora, Neb. with a private family inurnment to follow at the Aurora City Cemetery in Aurora.
