Loyd Ray Rush, 88, of Hutchinson, died January 4, 2022, at Mount Hope Nursing Center. He was born August 28, 1933, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to James and Laura (Mantooth) Rush.

Loyd retired from Packaging Inc. after working at Snyder Chemicals for 20 years and Link Welding. He was an avid runner and enjoyed exercise and staying active. Loyd also loved to go hiking in the mountains of Colorado. He was a member of New Life Nazarene Church, in Hutchinson.

On May 19, 1952, Loyd married Marie Pearson, at the First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They shared 69 years together.

He is survived by: wife, Marie Rush, Hutchinson; sons, Steve Rush, Ketchum, Oklahoma, Anthony Rush, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Douglas Rush, Mabank, Texas, Bryon Rush, Greensboro, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, James Rush, Leesville, Louisiana; and sister, Joy Prewitt, Stroud, Oklahoma.

Loyd was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Janice Malone; and siblings, JB Rush, William Rush, Violet Ridenour, Mary Goodson, Dora Haen, Grace Looney.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Elliott Mortuary.
