Obituary

Luann Cammack, 78, died April 8, 2014, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. She was born Nov. 20, 1935, to Harley and Viola Dewees Haxton in Lyons, Kan.

Luann graduated from Nickerson Rural High School and was a member of Midland Community United Church of Christ, Nickerson. She worked at Cessna for ten years and later went to work at Wal-Mart for fifteen years in Texas. On Dec. 26, 1975, she married Jean Hoath Cammack in San Antonio, Texas. He survives. Other survivors include: son-in-law, George Brauer of South Hutchinson, Kan.; stepdaughter, Deb England and husband Kit of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Julie Brauer of Manhattan, Kan., Kristi King and husband Lane of Longview, Texas; great-grandchildren, Alex, Katelyn and Adam. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Meri Jane Brauer; and sister, Elaine Pennick. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Midland Community United Church of Christ, Nickerson, with Pastor Judy Conners presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Reno County or Midland Community United Church of Christ, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
