Lucas Eli Nelson, 29, went to heaven on Dec. 19, 2015, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1986, in Wichita, to Linda (Wedel) Lusk and Ronnie Lee Nelson.
Lucas lived at Disability Supports of the Great Plains for 10 years. He was a beautiful, ornery, and joyful "mama's boy", who enjoyed listening to country music. Lucas provided grace and strength and he was a gift to all who knew him. He was a beautiful child who had an infectious smile. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: mother, Linda Lusk of Hutchinson; sister, Lena Wedel of Hutchinson; aunt, Inez Guy of Hutchinson; uncles, David and Charles Wedel of Lyons, Larry Wedel of Hutchinson; aunt, Wanda Woody of Sterling; father, Ronnie Nelson of Lindsborg; and many friends and staff at Disability Supports of the Great Plains.
He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Naomi and Mike Wedel; and uncle, Larry Guy.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Larry Wedel officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family to greet friends from noon until service time Saturday.
