Lucetta "Jayne" Tippie Yates, 70, died June 3, 2012, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.
She was born Feb. 5, 1942, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Dennis Fleet and Helen Ruth (King) Tippie.
In 1960 she graduated from Hutchinson High School and later received her Nursing Degree from Hutchinson Community College. Jayne retired in April of 2008, as the director for the Rice County Health Department. She had also worked as a registered nurse for the Hutchinson Medical Center, the Good Samaritan Center, and Dillon's bakery in her early years. Jayne was on the Lyons City Council, the Kansas Department of Aging, and enjoyed being involved in the theater in Lyons. She also hosted several foreign exchange students.
Survivors include: three children, Steven E. Murry, Buhler, Martin C. Murry and wife Elizabeth, San Antonio, Texas, and Paige L. (Hale) Anaya and husband Mark T., Andover; three brothers, James Tippie, Dennis Tippie and wife Bev, and Doyle Keffer and wife Phyllis, all of Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Tippie; mother, Helen Keffer; stepfather, Harold Keffer; and a sister, Anna Louise Tippie.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through service time Friday.
