Lucy M. Hayes' Obituary
Lucy Maxine Hayes, 91, died Dec. 10, 2007, at Columbia (Mo.) Manor Care Center.
She was born May 16, 1916, in Barry County, Mo., the daughter of Ora and Stella Powell Richardson. She was a Hutchinson High School graduate. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, having lived in Wichita and Omaha, Neb., she was a homemaker.
She belonged to First Church of God, Hutchinson and Wichita, where she had been active in Women of the Church of God and had taught weekday church school.
On Feb. 16, 1938, she married Gerald D. "Jerry" Hayes in Hutchinson. He died March 8, 1990.
Survivors include: a son, Jeffrey, Columbia, Mo.; and a granddaughter, Nicole Hayes, Columbia, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Leta Might.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Onie Cooper presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to First Church of God or the Leukemia Society of America, both in care of the mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
